The Baptist Bible Fellowship International (BBFI) was founded in 1950 in Springfield, Missouri, by pastors who separated from the World Fundamental Baptist Missionary Fellowship. It quickly grew into one of the largest fundamentalist Baptist fellowships in America, known in part for producing prominent megachurch pastors, including Jerry Falwell Sr. of Thomas Road Baptist Church. The BBFI supports hundreds of missionaries on multiple continents and operates Baptist Bible College in Springfield. Its member churches number in the thousands and are united by a commitment to biblical fundamentalism, soul-winning, and local church autonomy.
