First Presbyterian Church in Fort Oglethorpe is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America and Tennessee Valley Presbytery. Worship follows historic Christian liturgy, with ancient and modern hymns, Scripture reading, prayer and mainly expository preaching. The church gathers for Sunday school, morning worship and most Sunday evenings, with a shared supper and prayer meeting on Wednesdays. Sunday-morning nursery care is available for younger children. An interim pastor and elected elders and deacons serve the congregation during its pastoral search.
Sunday school begins at 9:45 AM and morning worship at 10:45 AM. Evening hymn singing at 5:50 PM and worship at 6:00 PM do not meet on the first Sunday of the month. Park behind the church off Hedekin Circle and enter under the long covered walkway into the foyer; greeters can help you find the sanctuary. Clothing ranges from jackets and dresses to jeans. Children may stay with their families, and a lower-level nursery serves children up to age four on Sunday mornings.
