Houston Lake Presbyterian Church in Kathleen began as a church plant in 2004 and became an organized PCA congregation in 2007. Sunday worship blends historic hymns, newer music, Scripture reading, prayer and preaching, with the Lord's Supper on most Sundays. School of Discipleship classes, nursery care and Teach Me to Worship help families take part. Youth gatherings, men's and women's Bible studies, LIFE groups and senior lunches offer smaller settings for Christian community. The church also sponsors Trail Life and American Heritage Girls and offers summer Vacation Bible School.

School of Discipleship begins at 9:15 AM for all ages, except on Easter, during July and in the last two weeks of December. Morning worship is at 10:30 AM. Evening worship meets at 6:00 PM on the first Sunday of the month, rather than every Sunday.
Nursery care serves birth through age three during classes and worship. Teach Me to Worship serves age four through first grade during the sermon, and parents may use an infant-care room at the back of the worship area. Students in grades seven through twelve have Sunday evening youth group and Wednesday small groups. Summer Bible school, Trail Life and American Heritage Girls offer additional opportunities.
LIFE groups, Bible studies, fellowship meals and service opportunities provide ways to connect. Women's studies include Wednesday evening and Thursday morning gatherings with childcare. Prime Timers welcomes adults age 55 and older for a last-Thursday lunch unless a special event changes the schedule. Confirm current group locations and dates before joining.
